MIAMI, Mar 17, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating segment of Interval Leisure Group, Inc. /quotes/comstock/15*!iilg/quotes/nls/iilg (IILG 14.69, -0.03, -0.20%) , today announced that Ocean Beach Club, LLC, doing business as Gold Key Resorts, has renewed its affiliation encompassing four resorts in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The multi-year agreement extends the relationship established in 1990 when Bruce Thompson, company founder and chief executive officer, expanded his hospitality business into timesharing and selected Interval as its exchange partner.

Gold Key's vacation ownership portfolio includes Beach Quarters Resort, Villas at the Boardwalk, Turtle Cay Resort, and its newest -- Ocean Beach Club -- a high-rise located in the north end of the family-friendly beach community, known for its classic boardwalk. Interval will continue to provide owners at these Virginia Beach properties an array of value-added travel and leisure programs and benefits, including vacation exchange services.

A leading and respected hospitality company in the mid-Atlantic U.S., Gold Key also contributes to numerous initiatives that attract tourism to the area, as well as to many local and national non-profit organizations. "Our goal is to create resorts that showcase what a special place Virginia Beach is to vacation, so it's important that we support the city's ongoing efforts to promote this beautiful destination," Thompson noted. "We're very pleased to extend our longstanding relationship with Interval, which gives our owners access to quality accommodations around the globe."

Commemorating Gold Key's 20 year anniversary in timesharing and its renewal with Interval, Craig M. Nash, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Interval Leisure Group, parent company of Interval International, said, "Bruce truly deserves recognition for his remarkable efforts. His dedication to his business, his industry, and his philanthropic initiatives has benefited so many. Further reinforcing the value of vacation ownership, Gold Key Resorts will continue to enroll new purchasers as individual members of Interval International, as well as Interval Gold(R), its upgraded membership program. This gives owners the opportunity to exchange their accommodations for those at other resorts in Interval's worldwide network, as well as the ability to relinquish their resort weeks toward the purchase of cruise, golf, and spa vacations. They also will enjoy an extensive menu of benefits, including discounts on resort Getaways, ShortStay Exchangesm, access to a personal concierge service available 24 hours a day via phone and e-mail, complimentary Hertz #1 Gold(R) membership, and worldwide hotel and dining discounts.

List of Best and Deadliest US Roads - Daily World Buzz

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 02:34 AM PDT

Summer is approaching and before hitting the road this season, you must assure the safety along your travel and decide which route could make your ride a smooth one or ones that are troublesome.

A list compiled by Reader's Digest suggested that Kansas, Wisconsin and Montana have the best roads in the country. The magazine based the data from the Federal Highway Administration.

Although Montana made the "best" among the roads listed, it also had some dishonorable mentions. It is best because of its good infrastructure and few chokepoints, however, it tops as the deadliest state when it comes to driving under the influence, including drivers who drink while driving, driving recklessly or not putting on seat belts. South Carolina ranked the second and Louisiana ranked the third in this category. Meanwhile, Alabama was ranked as the deadliest state for speeding, followed by Mississippi and South Carolina.

Reader's Digest list of best "safe, scenic, and sensible" roads are 1-70 through Kansas, 1-40 across New Mexico and California and 1-84 in Oregon.
